Nueterra Capital portfolio company Novel Capital has raised $115 million in equity and debt funding, as reported in the Kansas City Business JournalCrunchbase and FinTech Futures. Novel Capital plans to use the money to fund other companies through its revenue-based funding (RBF) model. In a shift from traditional venture capital investing, Novel Capital allows entrepreneurs to receive on-demand access to non-dilutive capital based on their recurring revenue. Novel Capital currently markets to software companies, whose revenue streams often don’t make sense for traditional bank loans, but the company said it is “not opposed” to expanding into other markets.
