Advocate Health Will Use KelaHealth Platform in Pilot Project to Assess Surgical Risk

As reported in Fierce Healthcare, Advocate Aurora Research Institute will use KelaHealth’s Surgical Intelligence Platform to study and improve surgical care outcomes in Advocate Health sites of service. Clinical and robotics data will be fed into KelaHealth’s AI-based platform, which will predict patient risk based on historical data. Advocate Health will be evaluating whether and to what extent KelaHealth’s insights reduced risk and improved outcomes. KelaHealth, a Nueterra Capital portfolio company, currently works with health systems and med tech companies to reduce or even eliminate surgical complications. “It is a big problem area that I don’t think we as a society talk much about,” said KelaHealth’s founder and CEO Bora Chang, M.D.
