Methodist McKinney Hospital Opens

McKINNEY, Texas – Methodist McKinney Hospital, the newest hospital in Collin County, will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, as it prepares to bring a new generation of health care services to residents of the growing north Texas area.
The hospital, at 8000 W. Eldorado Parkway, was designed by physicians for their patients, so grand opening activities will feature local physicians, community leaders and elected officials, and representatives from Methodist Health System and Nueterra Healthcare. The event will begin with a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m., followed by refreshments and tours of the new hospital.
The event will include comments from hospital President Kevin Jones, Dr. Vuhdi Slabisak, chairman of the hospital’s Board of Managers; and Board members
Dr. Ann Snyder and Dr. Robert Berry.
The 65,000 sq. ft. hospital will allow area physicians to expand medical services available to residents of Collin County and surrounding areas, providing quality, patient-focused medical care. The hospital will open with six fully-equipped operating rooms, comprehensive diagnostic imaging including CT and MRI services, and 15 private patient rooms. The newly updated Web site includes an overview on available services, patient instructions and a searchable medical staff directory.
Methodist McKinney Hospital is a joint venture that involves area physicians, Methodist Health System, and Nueterra Healthcare. The facility will offer a wide array of physician specialties, including: primary care, orthopedics, general surgery, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, gynecology, and pain management.
