Nueterra launches employment, insurance units

Nueterra Cos. has added insurance and business strategies to its range of services, the company announced Tuesday.
Leawood-based Nueterra - a health care, real estate and financial services firm - will offer business solutions to partnering companies through its new professional employer organization, Nueterra HR Solutions, and a range of insurance products - including liability and property and casualty - to a variety of industries through its new commercial insurance organization, Nueterra Insurance Solutions.
The move is meant to broaden Nueterra's scope and reach in the marketplace, spokesman Brian Levinson said.
"With the recent health care reform legislation, it's important that we find new ways to continue to have partnerships with physicians and health systems and help them continue to be successful," he said. "These new companies expand our ability to do that."
Levinson declined to disclose projections about added revenue the companies could bring to Nueterra.
He said Nueterra hired fewer than 10 employees to operate the new companies, which will be based in Tulsa, Okla.
The company employs 125 people at its Leawood branch and about 2,000 people nationwide, he said.
Nueterra began in 1997 and owns and manages more than 90 surgical and outpatient facilities in 28 states, according to a release.
